The basics
Fabric that finishes a room.
Custom drapery is made for your windows, not cut down from a stock size. Panels are fabricated to the right width and length, with the fullness, pleat, and hem chosen for the room, so they hang straight and move well.
That tailoring is the difference you feel. The right fabric and fullness soften hard architecture, quiet a room, and frame a window the way ready-made panels rarely do. Seeing fabrics in your own light makes the choice easier.
What goes into it
The details that shape a custom drape.
A few choices decide how the finished drapery looks and works. We walk you through each one.
Fabric & fullness
From linen and cotton blends to heavier weaves, the fabric sets the feel. Fullness, the extra width gathered into each panel, gives drapery its depth and soft folds.
Lining & light control
Lining adds body, protects the fabric, and improves insulation and privacy. A blackout or room-darkening lining turns drapery into a strong light blocker for bedrooms.
Hardware & tracks
Rods, tracks, finials, and rings are part of the look, not an afterthought. We coordinate hardware with the fabric and the room, including quiet motorized tracks where you want them.
Why custom drapery
What custom drapery does for a room.
Made to measure
Panels are fabricated for your exact window width and height, so they hang straight, break cleanly, and fit the wall.
Softness & warmth
Fabric absorbs sound and softens hard surfaces, giving a room a calmer, warmer, more finished feel.
Light & privacy
Lining and fullness let you tune privacy and light, from airy sheers to room-darkening panels for bedrooms.
Pairs with shades
Drapery layers beautifully over roller or Roman shades when you want both soft fabric and precise light control.
How they operate
Manual or motorized, depending on the window.
Both work well. The choice comes down to the size of the window, how often you draw the drapery, and whether you want it on a schedule or a single tap.

- Drawn by hand or with a wand, on a rod or track
- A simple, budget-friendly choice for most rooms

Good to know
Common questions.
How much does custom drapery cost?
Price depends on the size of the window, the fabric, the fullness, and the lining and hardware you choose. After we see the windows and talk through options, we put together a clear quote so there are no surprises
Can drapery block out light for a bedroom?
Yes. With a blackout or room-darkening lining, and panels wide enough to overlap and return to the wall, drapery becomes a strong light blocker. It will not seal as tightly as a fitted blackout shade, but it darkens a room well and adds softness.
Can drapery be motorized?
Yes. Drapery can run on a motorized track with remote, app, or schedule control, which is popular for wide spans, sliding doors, and tall windows. We will tell you when a hand-drawn rod is the simpler choice.
Do you measure and install drapery?
We handle the full process: consultation, in-home measurement, fabric guidance, preparation, and installation. Measurement is complimentary for qualified projects.
How long does custom drapery take?
Lead time depends on the fabric and the fabrication involved. We give you a realistic timeline once the details are set, and we keep you updated through to installation.
